TEAÂ â A 22-year-old woman has life-threatening injuries after her vehicle fell off an interstate bridge Thursday morning.Â
The crash was reported at around 11:15 a.m. at the Interstate 29 bridge at the Tea exit. A woman was driving northbound on I-29 when the vehicle collided with the bridge’s concrete guard rail, said Tony Mangan, public information officer with the Department of Public Safety.
The vehicle’s rear tire climbed up over the wall, causing the vehicle to fall off the interstate onto 271st Street, Mangan said.Â
The woman was taken by helicopter to Sanford. She was wearing a seat belt. No charges are pending.Â
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.Â Lincoln County Sheriffâs Office, Tea Fire Department, Life Flight andÂ Paramedics Plus assisted.
