The Mason County Area Technology Center is accepting toys for the annual Toys for Tots drive.
According to MCATC administrative secretary Stacy Arthurs, the Toys for Tots benefits children in the Mason, Bracken, Fleming, Lewis, Robertson counties in Kentucky and Brown and Adams counties in Ohio.
“We are requesting the communities, churches, businesses, civic organizations and individuals to help make this a special year for the needy children in our areas at Christmas time,” Arthurs said.
According to Arthurs, the drop off locations for toys will be Super 8 Motel on US 68, 759-8888; Auto Zone Maysville on US 68, 564-8707; Bradfordâs Home Mart in Augusta; 606-756-2450; Bracken County Resource Center in Brooksville, 606-735-3349; Shugars Auto Supply in downtown Maysville, 606-564-9071; Cash Express, near the Limestone Center in Maysville, 563-9445; and the Mason County Area Technology Center on Kenton Station Road, 759-7101 on Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Monetary donations can also be accepted.
“Monetary donations allow us to purchase the hard-to-fill orders especially teenagers,” Arthurs said.
Families who may need toys for children can sign up for the drive by calling the technology center at 606-759-7101 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
The information needed to sign up for the program includes child’s gender, age, the parent’s phone number, mailing address and first and last name, according to Arthurs.
Arthurs said she would like to have families signed up by Dec. 4.
“We would never turn anyone away if they were to sign up later,” Arthurs said. “But, we’d like to have people signed up by Dec. 4 if possible.”
