Recaps for the Seattle Mariners top affiliates for Thursday night provided by team releases.

Tacoma (AAA) 7, Sacramento 4

TACOMA, Wash.Six runs over the first two innings helped propel the Tacoma Rainiers (13-8) to a 7-4 victory over the Sacramento River Cats (7-15) on Saturday night at Cheney Stadium.

Mike Freeman (2 for 4, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI), D.J. Peterson (2 for 3, 2 R, BB), and Dario Pizzano (2 for 4, R, HR, 3 RBI) all collected multiple hits for the Rainiers. Pizzano, Freeman, and Tyler Smith all checked in with home runs to fuel the offensive effort.

Rainiers starting pitcher Sam Gaviglio (1-3) earned his first win of the year after allowing three runs on 10 hits over 5 1/3 innings of work. He issued two walks and struck out one along the way.

Right fielder Zach Shank pushed across the Rainiers final run of the game with an RBI single in the eighth.

Reliever Emilio Pagan worked the final two innings for Tacoma without allowing a single base runner, striking out four and earning his first save of the season.

Game four of the five-game set between the Rainiers and River Cats is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 1:35 p.m. Tacoma will throw right-hander Chris Heston (1-0, 3.18) against Sacramento righty Tyler Beede (1-0, 4.29).

Arkansas (AA) at Springfield, ppd.

The second of a four-game series between the Arkansas Travelers and the Springfield Cardinals was postponed due to rain and rescheduled to June 14. The series will resume on Sunday at 2:10 p.m. CT with Max Povse (3-1, 1.82) facing Jack Flaherty (4-0, 0.33) for Springfield.

Visalia 5, Modesto 2

MODESTO, Calif. A bloop triple plated the decisive runs in the Modesto Nuts 5-3 loss against the Visalia Rawhide on Saturday night at John Thurman Field.

In the eighth, Joe Pistorese (L, 0-1) started the inning for the Nuts (13-10) and could not get an out. He surrendered a double and RBI single before walking Marty Herum. That prompted the pitching change to bring Lukas Shiraldi into the game. Matt Jones was the first batter he faced and laid down a sacrifice bunt. Shiraldi’s throw to first was low allowing Jones to reach and load the bases. After striking out Henry Castillo, Galli Cribbs popped a three-run triple into shallow left with two outs to plate three unearned runs and give the Rawhide their first lead of the night.

The Nuts led for most of the game against Rawhide (13-10) starter Joel Payamps (W, 2-0). The only two runs plated against Payamps were in the fourth when Joe DeCarlo whacked a RBI single. The second run scored on a double play groundout. Payamps finished after seven innings and six hits with one walk and seven strikeouts.

Anthony Misiewicz worked 5 1/3 innings for the Nuts while striking out six and walking just one.

The Nuts play in the three-game series finale with the Visalia Rawhide on Sunday afternoon at 2:05 p.m.
