Katie Price was overcome with emotion when her 15-year-old disabled son managed to go scuba diving on holiday.
It was a leap of faith for Harvey, who suffers from learning disabilities, so mum Katie was naturally thrilled to see Harvey flourish on his diving lesson during a family holiday to the Maldives.
Price and third husband Kieran Hayler took all five of Katie’s kids away on the trip, which was filmed for her new reality show Katie Price: My Crazy Life.
In the latest episode, mum Katie snorkels under water to give Harvey a supportive hand during his lesson.
Katie’s oldest son suffers from Prader-Willi syndrome, which affects his growth, and he is also blind, so until now Harvey’s health has made adventure sports a pipe-dream.
However, above water Katie became emotional talking to the cameras about Harvey’s improvement, as she revealed at one stage doctors thought he may never walk or talk.
Katie explained: ‘It makes you realise in life that a child you thought couldn’t walk or talk is now in a pool scuba diving – that’s a massive achievement.’
Harvey’s personal success mirrors Katie’s professional life; the former glamour model is currently running a campaign to stamp out online bullying, a topic Katie has been very vocal about since Harvey began receiving vile abuse from online trolls.
She insisted: ‘Why do you take the p*** out of someone just cause they’ve got a disability?’
