Jurists selected for the 26th Tewksbury Juried Art Exhibition

Joel Tidey and Andrea Gianchiglia will serve as Jurists for the 26th Tewksbury Juried Art Exhibition, announced by Shaun Van Doren, Tewksbury Historical Society President and co-chair of the event with Andy Calamaras. 

With an expanded schedule starting Saturday, Sept. 30, through Saturday, Oct. 7, the show takes place at the Zion Lutheran Church, Christian Education Center, corner of Church St. and Miller Ave. in Oldwick.   

An Opening Reception will be held Friday, Sept. 29, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The show and sale includes juried, small works and portfolio areas. Photography, analog or digital only, is a new medium this year which also includes oils, acrylics, paper and hand pulled prints such as etching, silk screen and lithographs. Subjects include animals, abstracts, landscape, floral and still-life. 

Awards will be based on “Best in Show,” “Best of Tewksbury” and “Marion Katnack Award – Tewksbury Landscape”, along with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place honorable mentions in each category.

Joel D.Tidey, Judge of Selection, studied at The Art Institute of Philadelphia and the New York Art Student’s League in New York City. A member of the Salmagundi Art Club, he is the recipient of many awards over the years that are too numerous to cite individually. Among them are several from the Salmagundi Art Club which includes The Martin Hannon Memorial Award in their Thumb-box Exhibition, 2nd Prize in the Salmagundi 2010 En Plein Air Exhibition, Honorable Mention in the Club’s Summer Exhibition of 2010 and their Audubon Artist Award in 2009.  

His works have been exhibited at the Visual Arts Center of NJ, the Watchung Arts Center, the CWOW Small Works Exhibition, the Salmagundi Club, the Sylvia Marie Glesmann Floral Exhibition, the Ridgewood Art Institute, the West Essex Art Association and The Philadelphia Sketch Club, among others.
