Houston Attorney Mark Thiessen Wins Fifth Consecutive Super Lawyers Award and Makes Top 100 Lawyers in Houston

Attorney Mark Thiessen of the Thiessen Law Firm has again received the Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers award for his fifth consecutive year. Of the many competitive attorneys who seek to win this recognition, 39-year-old Thiessen is the only one of fourteen to represent DWI Criminal law on Thomson Reuters Top 100 Super Lawyers in Houston awardees and the only DWI attorney to make the Top 100 in their respective cities. He is one of four criminal lawyers to make the prestigious Top 100 Super Lawyers in Houston list. Furthermore, Thiessen is the youngest of all the Top 100 Super Lawyers in Houston.

Thiessen was selected as a Super Lawyer through Thomson Reuters’ patented, intensive selection process. In addition to being nominated by his peers, Thiessen also passed a 12-factor evaluation for professional achievement as assessed by an independent research committee, a process that only 5 percent of Texas’ applying attorneys are able to complete successfully.

Prior to his Super Lawyers awards, Thiessen had also won Thomson Reuter’s Rising Star Award for three succeeding years. However, in 2013 at the age of 35, Thiessen transitioned from Rising Star to Super Lawyer, which is an achievement typically not awarded to attorneys under 40 unless their rankings were high.
