It’s less than three months until the 129th Rose Parade returns to Pasadena, and we’ve already got our preview of which companies, local cities and other organizations will be building the parade’s dozens of floats.
This year’s theme is “Making a Difference,” but we don’t know yet how the list of participants will incorporate that message in to their floats.
Among the new cities with floats this year are Carson and Riverside. Los Angeles, Alhambra, Sierra Madre, South Pasadena, La Cañada Flintridge, Burbank, Torrance and Downey return after participating last year.
Another television show will participate this year, and it may be the Rose Parade’s first streaming show — Amazon Prime’s The Grand Tour, a travel show in the mold of BBC’s To Gear and starring Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, will have a float. In 2017, ABC’s The Bachelor built its own float.
In addition to the list of 39 participants, the Tournament of Roses also said, as always, two spots remain open for the two college football teams that will play in the 104th Rose Bowl game.
