It is the nation’s most popular reality TV show.
So it’s perhaps not surprising that a host of celebrities are said to be locked in top-secret talks for Strictly Come Dancing 2017.
According to reports, X Factor’s Olly Murs has already signed on the dotted line, which would open the floodgates for other family-friendly talent.
A source told the Daily Star : “Signing up for Strictly requires major commitment and several rehearsals every week. It leaves little to no time for a private life.
“It’s the perfect way for Olly to occupy himself and he’s hoping it will give him a new lease of life as he tries to move on from his split.
“His friends and family are thrilled he has decided to do the show and there is no doubt his fans are excited to see him wearing some amazing outfits.”
However, other big names are also tipped to be taking part. Here’s our guide to the names who keep being whispered…
Billie Faiers, 27
The former TOWIE star is busy juggling motherhood, but Billie is also thought to be on the verge of sealing a deal with producers, who want female glamour.
If it happens, she’ll no doubt form a bond with fellow Essex talent Olly, who originates from the same county.
Not that she’d be the first TOWIE alumnus to compete of course. Mark Wright famously set the precedent in 2016.
Michelle Collins, 55
As a former EastEnders actress, Michelle already has a good relationship with the BBC after playing Cindy Beale in their prime-time soap.
After quitting the show, she went on to star in a host of other beeb-related programes, such as Sunburn, Casualty, Dr Who and Hotel Babylon.
At 55, she’ll be one of the elder performers, though…
Jermain Defoe, 34
A natural-born goalscorer who has banged them in for West Ham, Portsmouth, Tottenham and Sunderland since turning professional at 16, Defoe would be the season’s sporting hunk.
And, being fit enough for the Premiere League, chances are he can easily work his way around a dancefloor.
Let’s hope his moves are better than his taste in women, though. He’s previously football-hunter Danielle Lloyd and Chantelle Houghton.
Tim Peake, 45
Once you’ve gone into space, you’ve done it all.
Yet the media career of British astronaut Tim Peake could go stratospheric if he swaps his space suit for sparkles.
Insiders say the 45 year-old – who orbited the earth for six months aboard the International Space Station – is being coaxed into appearing.
“The show’s producers want their best-ever line-up this year, which could happen if they get a national treasure like Tim”…
