FOLA hosts Fall Celebration of the Arts Oct. 1 | Arts

FOLA, the Foundation of Local Arts, hosts its Fall Celebration of the Arts, Sunday, Oct. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lido di Manhattan Ristorante and Bar in Manhattan Beach. FOLA executive director Angie Silverman says the free event is designed to assist the community arts education programs that FOLA supports.

“FOLA provides grants to Manhattan Beach Middle School and Mira Costa High School to enhance their arts programs for fine arts, journalism, choir and media,” Silverman explains. “FOLA provides communication about life through the arts, where expression is communicated through song, music, dance, video, fine art, literary writings and the full spectrum of arts.”

The event is hosted by Chevron and the Lido restaurant.

She describes FOLA as a boutique nonprofit that presents artists across a full spectrum of the arts, and showcases “some of the best in our midst.”

The Oct. 1 event features local songwriter and guitarist Jamisen Jarvis, and the work of fine artists Vincent Laforet, Linzi Lynn, Susan McGehee, Bobbie Rich, Phyllis Ferrara and Thomas Delaney.
