The ever-changing world of technology is about to unveil a new operating system that will impact iPads and iPhones.

Any time there’s a technological breakthrough you can rest assured that classes at the Computer Education Center at The Landing will address the impact it will have on electronic devices.

Introducing the latest to hit the field of electronics: iOS11, designed to make your iPhone better than ever before and your iPad more capable than ever.

That’s great, but you may ask: How will that impact you?

John Lortz, known for breaking down high-tech talk into layman’s terms, says iOS11 is on the horizon in September, followed not long after by classes that break down what it means to you. Lortz stays on top of the latest technology and imparts his wisdom in Lincoln’s only computer education center designed specifically for ages 55 and above.

The effect of iOS11 is one of a myriad of subjects Lortz will address during upcoming classes at the south-central Lincoln center. A sneak preview of classes beginning in August will be shared during two free educational seminars to be presented Thursday (Aug. 3).

Fall classes, which kick in the week following the Aug. 3 seminars, also will address the Windows 10 Creators Update.

Focus on photos

In some respects, the more things change in the world of computer technology, the more they remain the same: Camera buffs still flock to the Computer Education Center for details they can apply to their digital photography.

“The photo world is ever-changing, as are phone cameras,” Lortz observed.
