Twins in the White House

It’s a great opportunity to touch base with the twins, 35, who will share stories of their lives as the daughters of one president (George W. Bush) and granddaughters of another (George H.W. Bush). Their mother, former first lady Laura Bush, has written the foreword to Sisters First (Grand Central, on sale Oct. 24).

Jenna is a married mother of two young girls and a correspondent for NBC’s Today show. Barbara is CEO and co-founder of Global Health Corps, an organization seeking to build the next generation of global health leaders.

All grown up now

At a small lunch hosted by publisher Grand Central in June, the sisters gave a sneak peek of their book and good-naturedly remembered the tabloid headlines when they were caught drinking as underage college students.

“We always had each other. I had a partner in fun and a partner in crime, and I mean that quite literally,” Jenna said.

Jenna also said the twins wrote their memoir to share stories of their sisterly bond, and so the public could know them better.
