Bring your appetite, enjoy the foods of Farmfest

Minnesota’s largest outdoor farm show offers plenty of fair food to keep visitors satisfied. Farmfest takes place near Redwood Falls, Minnesota, Aug. 1-3.

Starting the first morning of the show, the Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council will offer free mini-donuts. The crew will be frying the batter in soy oil at Gate 2. Frying begins at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1. The first 1,000 guests will each receive a sample.

Stop by St. Raphael Church Food Stand at Booth No. C127 to get a cup of coffee.

That same day, Aug. 1, the Minnesota Corn Growers will provide a free sweet corn feed near the Wick Buildings Farmfest Center at 11:30 a.m.

To go along with that yummy sweet corn, the Minnesota State Cattlemen’s Association has their food stand at C513N. You can find a beef sandwich or meal there.

Also, the Minnesota Farmers Union/Big River Pizza at C509 offers pizza and beverages.

On Wednesday, Aug. 2, Minnesota Farm Bureau will host a free pancake breakfast featuring flapjacks with all the trimmings. The breakfast begins at 8 a.m. in the Wick Buildings Farmfest Center.

Then, for the kids attending Farmfest, Minnesota Farm Bureau offers a scavenger hunt throughout the grounds. The sheets with items to find are located at the Minnesota Farm Bureau Pork Chop Stand at C8.

Kids who return the sheet with the items located receive a free ice cream treat at the Minnesota Farm Bureau stand.

In addition, children and parents can purchase pork sandwiches and pork chops on a stick while visiting there.
