Award-winning Film to Highlight Peace Education Program at PBS Stations Across U.S.

“Inside Peace” is a window into the hearts and minds of men who chose to break life-long cycles of negativity.

The men manage to take the message to heart that they have value as people—no simple lesson, especially when it comes so late in life. This is where, for the viewer, the awe comes in. You mean inner peace is… always possible?

Four years in the making, “Inside Peace” focuses on four men at the Dominguez State Jail in San Antonio who embark on a journey of self-discovery. With lives marked by generations of violence and addiction, they attend the Peace Class and begin the struggle to discover their humanity and rebuild their lives from the inside out.

When released from jail, life becomes even more treacherous as they try to live in a world filled with conflict, rejection and hostility. Faced with these familiar roadblocks at every turn, they put the tools they learned in the peace education workshops into practice—and try to break the cycle of destructive behavior that led them to jail in the first place.

“The men manage to take the message to heart that they have value as people—no simple lesson, especially when it comes so late in life. This is where, for the viewer, the awe comes in. You mean inner peace is… always possible?” wrote Robert Koehler in a film review for the Huffington Post.

More than 200 PBS stations are planning to show the feature documentary over 1,000 times in 40 states by the end of 2017.

The most up-to-date schedule of broadcasts can be found on the “Inside Peace” website here.
