Amtrak recently announced an extensive overhaul of the interiors of its train fleet. The improvements will include new seat cushions, new carpeting, new LED reading lights, new bathroom flooring and redesigned galleys in the café cars. Amtrak will implement the $16 million project in phases on its Northeast Regional and Midwest trains, starting with new carpets and cushions and upgraded restrooms this fall.
