2017 Presidents Cup Live Blog: U.S. pulling ahead in Friday four-ball

The Presidents Cup continues Friday. The biennial event between the U.S. and International squads embark at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, N.J., with a four-ball session on Day 2 after the U.S. opened a 3.5-1.5 lead in Thursday foursomes.

UPDATE No. 21 (4:01 p.m.): Patrick Reed wasn’t going to be quiet forever.

He rolls in a 16-footer for birdie at No. 15 to win that hole and move he and Spieth 1 down. That pair is 6-1-2 in Ryder and Presidents cups. They’re looking to stave off a rare defeat.

UPDATE No. 20 (3:53 p.m.): JT!!!!

Justin Thomas holes out a bunker shot for birdie at 14 and then goes nuts. That ends up halving the hole, which is huge, as that keeps him and Fowler 2 up on Grace and Oosthuizen (who are 5-0 as a team).

UPDATE No. 19 (3:46 p.m.): Koepka rolls in an 11-footer for birdie at No. 10 and when Vegas can’t get his 8-footer to drop, the Americans win that hole and move 1 up.

The U.S. now leads in three matches to the Internationals’ two. Still tight here, but the Americans are now projected to win this session.
