15 things to do this weekend in Orange County (Sept. 29-Oct. 1) – Orange County Register

It’s a good weekend to be outdoors. You can keep your eyes on the skies in Huntington Beach, watch paddle competitions in Doheny, see sand castles in Corona del Mar or take a walk in Trabuco Canyon. But if you just need to stay indoors, there are lots and lots of cars in Anaheim.

BREITLING HUNTINGTON BEACH AIR SHOW: The Navy Blue Angels and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds will headline this year’s air show. View flight demonstrations over the Pacific Ocean during the day and stay for an evening bonfire. Guests are encouraged to pack a picnic, bring blankets, beach chairs and umbrellas. PACIFIC PADDLE GAMES: Hundreds of fierce competitors from around the world will come to Doheny State Beach for the stand-up paddle races, where they’ll paddle for a $60,000 prize purse. An expanded exhibition area this year that will include a new Fitness Zone and free yoga. A demo zone will showcase all the latest in SUP gear and boards, and clinics for all levels of experience. There will also be food vendors and beer garden on the beach, as well as live music. The event runs from Sept. 30 through Oct. 1 at Doheny State Beach. Information: ppg.supthemag.com.

‘TWELVE ANGRY MEN’: Reginald Rose’s spiky, expertly written “Twelve Angry Men,” on stage at The Attic Theater in Santa Ana this weekend, shows us a jury at work, depicting the cultural norms of the 1950s while capturing that era’s flavor.
