According to the Italian-based Center for Studies on New Religions, Christians were the most persecuted religious group globally in 2016.
Observers are disturbed by the report that also determined that last year, 90,000 Christians were killed and another 600 million were prevented from practicing their faith. An American watchdog group, Open Doors, which began in 1955, added the U.S. for the first time to the 2017 world watch list for Christian persecution.
Practicing Christianity in America has not become illegal, and indeed, in no way rises to the level of persecution of other countries. However, some Christians and non-Christians believe secular progressives’ interpretation of the Constitution is a slap at the original intent of the Founding Fathers.
