National Cheesecake Day is July 30.
SALT LAKE CITY — National Cheesecake Day is July 30, a day to celebrate a favorite dessert that first appeared thousands of years ago.
According to cheesecake.com, anthropologists have found cheese molds on the Greek island of Samos that date back to 2,000 B.C. that may have been used for the first cheesecakes, and in A.D. 230, the first Greek cheesecake recipe was recorded by the writer Athenaeus. But it wasn’t until the 18th century that cheesecake began to really resemble what we eat today as yeast was replaced by eggs in the dish, the website states.
For anyone looking to honor the dessert, here are a few places in Utah that can satisfy your craving.
The Cheesecake Factory
The Cheesecake Factory knows a thing or two about cheesecake. Whether you’re in the mood for the restaurant’s original cheesecake, something fruity like its key lime cheesecake or something decadent like its Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake, the three dozen flavors give plenty of options.
As has become an annual tradition, Cheesecake Factory locations throughout the country will offer a new flavor of cheesecake as well as offer dine-in guests half off any slice of cheesecake in honor of National Cheesecake Day on July 30 and 31.
This year’s new flavor is Celebration…
