Orange County senior singers have a good time – Orange County Register

Good times can be had whenever the Singing Goodtimers get together.

“It’s just fun to sit with friends and sing songs we all know,” said Wally Benton of Huntington Beach, who has been the musical director for the last 16 years of the senior chorus that regularly performs at senior homes, centers and facilities.

On Friday, Aug. 4, the Goodtimers will sing at the Orange County Fair for the 11th straight year. They are scheduled to perform a program of patriotic songs on the Heritage stage at 4:15 p.m.

For Benton, 91, who played clarinet and saxophone in the Army during World War II, the real reward is bringing happiness to others.
