Three injured in separate road accidents
SHILLONG: Several cases of hit and run have been reported from different parts of the State. On July 27 around 3 pm, one unknown motorcycle knocked down one Pynbiang Lyngdoh at Marngar in Ri Bhoi. Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Bethany Hospital, Nongpoh. Matter is under enquiry.On the same day, one jeep (ML-05A-0955) dashed against one scooty (ML-05Q-0667) ridden by Pascal Kurbah (20) at Mawngap. As a result, the scooty rider sustained injuries and was admitted at NEIGRIHMS.In another accident, an unknown vehicle knocked down Mahesh Kalita (42), driver of Mahindra Xylo (AS-01AL-2828), while he was checking the light of his vehicle at Mawtnum in Ri Bhoi. Victim sustained injuries and the matter is under enquiry.
Miscreants damage Jio cable, threaten staff
SHILLONG: Digvijoy Borgohain of Reliance-Jio Infocom Limited Iewrynghep, Fire Brigade, lodged a complaint that between June 29 and 30, unknown miscreants have cut and damaged the underlying cables of Jio network at Hopkinson Road, Laitumkhrah. A threatening SMS was also sent to the complainant, which is suspected to have been done on the instruction of the malevolent party.
Verification sought from DMC on allegations against school head
TURA: The president of the Matri Mangal Girls’ SSA Upper Primary School at Moulakandi in West Garo Hills has in a letter, urged the District Mission Coordinator in Tura to verify certain allegations made against its headmaster.The SMC president sought that the alleged manipulation of the teachers by the headmaster and subsequent submitting of a teachers’ list without the knowledge of the SMC to the office of the Block Mission Coordinator (BMC) under Selsella Block is verified.Verification on the actual qualification of the headmaster was also sought in the letter.
