Fire Destroys White River Junction Buildings

White River Junction — Three buildings in a small industrial park next to the railroad tracks in White River Junction were destroyed by fire this morning, and a fourth appeared to sustain heavy damage.

Authorities say a truck driver who was sleeping in his parked truck outside the building on Harrison Avenue, off Nutt Lane near Ratcliffe Park, was awakened by the fire around 3:20 a.m.

The driver, Matt Dunbar, of Hartland, said he heard an explosion, which authorities have attributed to a 275-gallon heating fuel tank.

“It was a loud bang,” Dunbar, 35, said on the scene. 

The lost buildings include:

— an office building used by Ken Keith, who said he co-owns White River Investment Properties LLC with three partners, including his son, Jared Keith,

— the auto garage next door, which rented out space and services, and

— a manufacturing facility that was used by Solaflect and Agfa Graphics.

Fire officials said the investigation and ongoing cleanup will affect the area and nearby…
