It started early Saturday when more than 300 volunteers showed up at Anaheim’s Imperial Park in an area where there was once a playground. By the time darkness fell, a brand-new playground had sprung up.
This is the eighth Disney-sponsored “KaBOOM!” playground built in the city since 2011. There are four more planned, the resort announced last year.
“We are more dedicated than ever to securing a bright future for Anaheim’s children and families,” said Michael Colglazier, president of the Disneyland Resort.
During the day, the volunteers poured concrete for posts, put together the various pieces of playground equipment, and got their hands dirty by shoveling wood chips into the play areas.
