Clouds, lower temperatures could help firefighters battle 8,000-acre blaze – Orange County Register

The more-than-1,600 firefighters battling the fast-moving and devastating 8,000-acre Canyon Fire 2 could get some help from foggy weather and lower-than-average temperatures Wednesday.

The humidity is expected to be around 60 percent Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service, and temperatures should be in the mid-70s in the Anaheim and Orange areas where the fire has been burning for the last three days.

The latest numbers from Tuesday evening show that firefighters made progress in increasing the containment to 40 percent, according to Anaheim Fire & Rescue. Full containment is expected Saturday.
